Sardar Ka Grandson Movie Review: Story
The story of the film revolves around Amreek (Played By Arjun Kapoor) & his grandmother Sardar (Played By Neena Gupta). Amreek who resides in Los Angeles along with his girlfriend Radha (Played By Rakul Preet) runs a packer & movers company.
Amreek’s not-so-caring nature & not accepting his mistake attitude disappoints Radha and she separates herself from him due to this. Amreek was heartbroken after this incident. After that, his father called him from Amritsar, Punjab, and told him that he should return back home as his grandmother is unwell.
Amreek.s grandmother Sardar (Played By Neena Gupta) was suffering from a tumor. The doctor advised Amreek’s father Gurkeerat (Played By Kanwaljit Singh) that he should take care of her mother at home as operating at this stage can cost her life.
Gurkeerat was aware that his mother doesn’t have much time left. Sardar has a wish to visit her house in Lahore (Pakistan) which was built by her husband Gursher (Played By John Abraham) in the year 1946. Gursher was killed by the rioters during the independence and somehow Sardar escaped and reached India. She tells Amreek about her desire to visit her old-built house in Lahore, Pakistan.
Amreek decides to fulfill her last wish and applies for her visa to travel to Pakistan. Her visa got rejected as she was blacklisted from traveling to Pakistan as she attacked a Pakistan official during a cricket match a few years ago. Amreek then remembers that Radha transplanted a tree in the USA.
He gets to know about the structure relocation where people can lift the house from one location & transfer it to another location. He seeks help from the government of India & Pakistan and they decide to help him. Amreek decides to visit Lahore in order to find the house.
He hides all this from Sardar as he thinks it will be heartbreaking for Sardar if the mission fails. Amreek says that he is going back to Los Angeles for some urgent work & reaches Lahore. He found out the old house of her grandmother there. But as he reached there he came to know that the local bodies are about to demolish the structure. What happens next makes the plot of the film.
Sardar Ka Grandson Movie Review: Screenplay
Anuja Chauhan and Kaashvie Nair have written the story of the film & they have done a very good job. The screenplay of the film has been carried out well, there are some glitches but it is covered up by the emotional connection. The scenes of both the location India & Pakistan have been shot well and the messages of both the countries have been properly narrated.
The dialogues of the film have been written by Amitosh Nagpal & it adopts well with the film.
Sardar Ka Grandson Movie Review: Direction
The film is directed by Kaashvie Nair who has done an exceptional job. She managed the emotional & dramatic scenes quite well. All the scenes have been shot well and Neena Gupta’s character is music to ears because her character is the heart and soul of the film. Kaashvie also managed to take out the best of Arjun Kapoor and as a result he delivers a fantastic perfomance which will surely impact his fan following in a positive way.
Sardar Ka Grandson Movie Review: Music
The music of the film is given by Tanishk Bagchi and is decent. Songs of the film have not made a huge mark on the chartbusters but are decent. Dil Nahi Todna is the first song of the film, followed by Naal Rab Ve, Main Teri Ho Gayi & more. Gulraj Singh’s background score adapted well with the film.
The music of the film is more of situational rather than focusing on creating chartbusters which goes well with the narrative of the film.

Arjun Kapoor carries the film on his shoulders in entirety and proves his mettle. It seems like he is living the character, with Sardar ka Grandson Arjun Kapoor has taken huge strides as an actor.
Neena Gupta is the soul of the film and has delivered one of the most memorable performances of her career. Her makeup might have been tough job both for the make up team and her to carry, but the end result is nothing short of a treat.
Rakul has limited screen time but has done a good job in the film. All the other characters of the film have played their part well. The film comprises of a very talented star cast and actors with their performances fill up for the gaps in the screenplay.
