Chhichhore First Day (Friday) Box Office Collection Report: Off to a good start

Chhichhore has started well at the box office despite heavy competition from many films

Chhichhore First Day (Friday): The film released in 2165 screens and commanded 33.27% market share in terms of screens with heavy competition from holdovers from last week.

The film has a slow start at the box office with 13% occupancy in the early morning shows and 18% occupancy in the Morning shows.

The Occupancy did not soar in the afternoon also with 21% from early afternoon shows and 25% in afternoon shows. Single screen theatres just refused to take off and performed poorly for the entire day.

However good news came in the evening and night shows from the multiplexes as the evening occupancy was a fantastic 45% and night occupancy was 52%.

The factors working against Chhichhore is a lot of options to choose from right from Saaho, Mission Mangal and Balta House to the latest Hollywood offering IT returns: Chapter 2.

But the good news is that most of the reviews are positive and the evening growth suggests that there is a growth in sales due to word of mouth, however same can be confirmed on Saturday.

Chhichhore carries a good economy and if the film can show good growth over the weekend then it will be a safe bet at the box office. But this trend where most of the movies don’t open well on working opening days is a little troublesome for the Industry and more thought should be given to this on how to improve the morning occupancy as it can boost up overall prospects of the theatre industry.

Chhichhore First Day (Friday) Box Office Collection Report:

As per our early estimated Chhichhore has collected a solid 7.32 crores on its 1st day. Earlier films starring Sushant Singh Rajput like Kedarnath collected 7.25 crores and M S Dhoni collected 21.32 crores on their first days.

The trends were very strong at the multiplexes in the evening shows but the single screens were disappointing.
