Batla House Friday (2nd Day): Released in a mega clash with Mission Mangal it was not easy to stand the ground, A weaker film could have simply perished.

On one hand you have Akshay Kumar Teaming up with Vidya Balan and other big actors on a Big production and marketing budget and on one hand you have John Abraham in a modest budget film.

But the results are indeed remarkable for both Mission Mangal and Batla House as the later needs around 70 crores to be a clean hit and it will be a super hit at 85 crores based on the economics of the movie. While the producers of the movie are already laughing their way to the banks the distributors who have bought it for a Minimum guarantee of 30 crores are happy and so are the exhibitors who are playing it as everyone associated with the movie is almost certain to make good amount of profits.

This Mission Mangal Vs Batla House clash has been remarkable for more than one reasons.

  1. It proves that two films with different economics structure can clash at the box office and still be profitable ventures.
  2. It proves that without any negativity and crying victim both films can have good amount of screens and have their audience at large to watch the respective movie.
  3. It Again proves that no matter what happens Audience will always go for a good movie.

Also the producers should understand the upper mark of their movies and plan the budget accordingly.

Batla House started the 2nd Day on a modest note just like Mission Mangal and continued to trend well till night shows. The weekend is expected to be huge again.

Verdict: It can be given on Monday evening after looking at the hold But the film has already crossed 24 crores and let’s assume if it shows even a modest growth of 60% and 20% on Saturday and Sunday then it’s all set to cross 50 crores in first weekend and it will with surety cross 45 crores at least.

Given that the film needs 70 crores to be a clean hit and it has got 2 weeks open window till Saaho arrives. Unless it falls very badly on Monday there’s no reason that why it won’t be a Super Hit at the Indian Box Office. While a Clean hit is the minimum guarantee from here.
